The journey has begun! Chris finally moved to and joined me in Japan during the last week of May. Here’s the backstory: We flew together to Japan because I went back to the Philippines in April 2024 in obedience to the Lord’s instruction after quitting my teaching job. I sensed that there was something God wanted me to witness there, which was why He wanted me to come home, although it felt unusual. Normally, I would visit the Philippines in August, but this year was different. Long story short, I was supposed to return to Japan by April 24 but ended up extending my stay.

Before all this happened, while still in Japan, I had a dream where I heard a voice saying, “You will be in Shinjuku by May.” Shinjuku is a major district in Tokyo, Japan, known for its vibrant and bustling atmosphere. The dream only made sense to me the night before my flight back to Japan when I felt a strong conviction from the Lord to cancel it. Besides being a district, the name "Shinjuku" can be broken down into two parts: "新" (shin) meaning "new" and "宿" (juku) meaning "inn" or "lodging." So, "Shinjuku" roughly translates to "new inn" or "new lodging."

It was one of the big signs that guided us on our journey to seek the Lord’s will regarding our decision to settle as a family in Japan for this new season! This prophetic sign was confirmed when Chris received his resident visa on May 7 after a 7-month wait! This was the reason God wanted me to stay longer so that Chris and I could fly together and tread on the land of Japan for the first time ever as a married couple all the way from our own land. We have crossed over to the new inn/new lodging, the promised land that God is inviting us into—the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan!

Our God is full of wonders and surprises! From the moment we said YES to God regarding Japan, things have not been easy, but every bit of sacrifice will be worth it. Jesus is worth every soul that will be saved by hearing and believing the gospel, the power unto salvation! We are now being trained to be pioneers of the gospel in Japan and Asia through our church’s ministry school, AASM, while serving the church in worship, doing outreaches, and preaching the gospel in the streets!
